juz love his way of humour.

baby n i went to this new peranakan cafe near our work place for lunch.
food was really good! ltr then we noe that it was opened by the cousin of one of our colleague.
v authentic peranakan food. good for lunch!

yes folks, this is my bfast.
two perfectly cooked sunny side up, w sausages n the cake i bought from isetan (cake w pudidng by iron chef sakai).i think i shd go open my own cafe.haha.
after all, a good bfast is really impt for a good start of the day. dun u think so?

and yes, baby n i fell into dessert trap again.
we went wimbly lu on sat for some awesome waffles n root beer cake!
my absolute fav.
i am going to try the new orelans restaurant nxt door nxt time.
M&C, wanna come?
baby n i will always "jump"into the gourmet wagon for restataurant week every march n oct. we can get good deals for set lunches n dinner. for this time, we chose 3 restaurants to visit. the 1st one is song of india. yes, indian food, fine dining.
v dark. baby using hp to attract my attention.

amuse bouche. indian cracker w pastry. nice.
a platter of chickpea salad n tandoori chicken, tikka fish n lamb kebab. i love love love the fish! v moist n fragrant. sweet n smooth flesh. total winner for me. chicken was alright. n the lamb. it was the ultimate punch on the face. baby totally freaked out when she tasted the lamb. v v v gamey lamb taste. even i cant really take it. scary.
pepper cracker toasted in tandoori. v nice! goes well w the minty sour cream.
this platter is definately art. saffron rice, tiger prawn w onion salsa n hand pounded spice, lamb curry w chilli, chicken cooked in masala curry, spinach w cottage cheese n punjab black lentils. this, to me, make the whole trip down worth. the prawn is fragrant w seafood sweetness, the lamb is rich n flavourful, the chicken is v v v v v tasty w subtle sweetness from the meat, the spinach ooze hint of garlic w the creamy cheese n the black lentils r hot n spicy. this is a symphony of flavours w each flavours bursting in your mouth. i called it a fireworks of flavours. v balanced wout any flavours overpowering each other. this is really good!

malai kulfai, saffron coconut samosa. the kulfai is ok. the samosa is too sweet for me.

masala tea to end the meal. v light n flowery. i like!

this is indian fine dining at its best. service is ok, but the food is really good!

2nd place we went to is one we've been to few yrs ago.

the ever tasty dried tomato bread. served w fruity olive oil.
 opps. ate too much????

my appetiser. venison cappaccio w blueberry sauce n goat's cheese. gamey n sweet. nt for ladies. ok for me.
baby's mushroom soup w black truffles n poached egg. v tasty. smooth n silky w hint of black truffle fragrance.
spaghetti aglio olio w hokkaido scallops n mullet roe. v fresh scallops, sweet n tender.lack abit of citrus though. nevertheless, nice.
the server recommended this full bodied wine to go w my beef. v good!
grilled angus beef w porcini. beef was nice n juicy, goes so well w the mushroom n wine. yum!
chocolate tart w orange mascarpone n orange compote. super nice oozing bitter chocolate tart w lovely creamy mascarpone cheese. what can go wrong?

coffee to end the meal. the food was good, n the service was impeccable. v warm n welcoming, attentive yet not too aggrassive. one of my fav restaurant!
3rd place was a tapas place in orchard. i shall nt name it. the decoration does nt justify the std of the restaurant.

 sangria. ok.
baby always complain that i seldom put her "pretty"photo here. nah nah. give u la.

but i cant help to put this as well!!! hahahhaha.
 mediocre gazpacho
the ones at tcc taste better.
this is a idiot proof dish. what can go wrong w egg, mushroom n spinach?
on the whole, this is damn disappointing. total waste of my money n time. n calories.

baby n i tried to redeem ourselves for that horirble meal previously. we went to this chinese restaurant a chinatown point after our weekly gym session. this fried mee sua is good. wok hei is there n nt too soft.
my fav siew mai. i think it lack the pork flavour. too much prawn for me.
 pork ribs was good.
thier chive dumpling. v Q skin n the filling was surprisingly light. good.
their roast goose. so so la. those in HK is better. but baby liked this. nt so gamey.
