Indeed, celebration with a bang (many bangs) - Happy birthday!

its a milestone for my baby, so she decides to celebrate her bday with a BANG (many lor. no, not kinky, dun think dirty)
it all started w a staycation on her actual bday.
we went for lunch b4 checking in. we have been wanting to eat for for the longest time. so we tot might as well, since we r on leave n yearn for good food!

 we were seated at the bar to catch all the action from the kitchen
 the bleh hair.
 the famous sea urchin w caviar and squid ink pudding. this is awesome. ur mouth juz explodes w seafood-y goodness. sweet n melt in ur mouth uni, the little bits of saltiness from the caviar, the natural sweetness of squid ink......good!

 anchovies w awesome bread. too salty for us.
 the chef recommended us to get this beetroot carpaccio to balance off the meatiness and saltiness. luckily we did juz dat. the tang really helps. 

 artichoke w some cheese. it tasted ok.



 beef tongue w purple cabbage. meaty grilled goodness. we will b back for more!
 dessert was donut w lemon custard. good food overall, n the chef was v passionate abt his food! good.

 welcome snacks for us!

 the hotel staff noted that it was baby's bday, so they sent up a cake, with a birthday card for baby. they've also arranged to let us check out late for the next day. awesome service!

 got candle some more! nice!

 dinner was at this italian restaurant @ MBS. we took the tasting menu.

 amuse bouche. nothing can go wrong w good parma ham.

 salad w bacon. too sour for me

 grilled veal tongue (alot of tongue today). flavorful n tender. v v nice. 
 bruschetta w onion jam, riccotta cheese n maple bacon. how come its sour again??? 
 some salad w chive flower. TOO SOUR FOR ME (wats wrong man?)
 pumkin ravioli. too sweet for me.
 this is done perfectly. al dente (yes, fresh pasta yet al dente!) freshly made spaghetti, flavorful duck ragout. flavors r well balanced, w the pecorino cheese......ma ma mia! we were being transported back to rome immediately. 
 grilled iberico pork chop. v v good sauce, n meat was juicy. nice.
 rainbow trout w lentils. w moist n sweet fish. v well done.
 coconut sherbet to cleanse our palate

 the restaurant staff remembered my request. delivered baby's dessert w a candle. :)



service was v good. however, there were hits n misses for the food. we will b back for the pasta next time.
