Mid Autumn Celebrations + Cooking Class + Epicurean Market

alot has been going on for the past few weeks.
lots of eating cos another colleague (ya, again) left our company.
sigh. 
化悲愤为食量。

 did some cooking of sea bass w basil and grilled tomato
 my balsamic vinegar i bought from firenze. sweet n tangy.

 i've actually perfected my pasta cooking skills for vongole. :)

 baby n i went to the mexican cooking class few weeks ago. cocktail b4 class.

 dessert look good too! but i think we wun go bk to that sch again. std of instructors had fell into the drain. sad.
 bought some figs n made fig salad w cheese, basil and truffle honey

food was ok. but will go for other stuff instead if i am in the vicinity again.
 finally got to try out the dessert shop. verdict?


i will stick to the main shop in tpy.

 babysitting for J as the maid went bk for 2 weeks. nat happily drinking the lotus root soup i bought for him. :)
 zai zai reluctantly took the present (yellow elephant handmade by baby) n ang pow. i think the mum is happier.

 a cold noodle thai styled dish by jim thompson. yes. michelin star thai food. u bet it is good! refreshing  balanced flavors

 dessert fr ku de ta. the foam on top is made fr thai whiskey. v strong n unique flavors
 baby say she prefers JO.
 i think so too.
 we went early next morning to continue our food marathon 
 cooking demo by waku gin
 the legendary chef tetsuya!
 chef nancy and fan-girl baby.
 we got these 2 items fr waku gin
 signature dish botan prawn w caviar and uni. super super super tasty!!!! sweet creamy uni w fresh botan prawn n briny caviar. wat can i say? the symphony of sea bursting in ur mouth!!!!
 blue spanner crab salad. warm dish. v fresh n balanced flavors from tinge of lemon grass 

 chef justin working his magic from the sky on 57 booth. we got 3 dishes from him.
 special of the day, wagyu beef. my oh my oh my. wagyu beef braised in a powerful thick sweet sauce w a perfectly poached egg. the meat melts in ur mouth, releasing the flavors of the wagyu beef......delicious!
 xiao long bao w foie gras n truffle. to me, this is the BEST xiao long bao i've ever tasted. my best dish of this show.
 a fish carpaccio. it has good flavors, but pales in comparison w the above 2 dishes.
 got oysters fr the db booth. sweet n creamy.
 new york dog! my comfort food.

 freshly prepared crepe suzette. best crepe i've tasted. dun play play w michelin stars.
 went bk to the waku gin booth for desserts.
 baby insisted to hav this branded melon. 15 bucks a slice. yes, she is damn chi chi.
 after much struggling n discussion, we've decided to pack 4 cakes
 n their cream puffs. i've nv tasted such nice cream puffs b4......love it.

 we had some coffee, thinking to end this food hunting marathon
but alas, we were lured by this fragrant dum briyani at the corner. oh man, this was the 1st time i can say that a briyani is LIGHT. not greasy at all. n the flavors r well balanced. v good briyani
eat AGAIN!!!! chilli from ku de ta. 有始有终.
 and yes. i bought 2 pcs of foie gras to cook at home. artery clotting goodness. dinner party anyone? maybe i shd plan an intensive training session to the gym instead. simply ate too much this week.
