Katong Again

baby n i went to orchard to fix our hair over the weekend.
b4 the long long hair treament, we've decided to feed ourselves silly.

 number 1 leh. good good.
 baby's mocha. they've actually given us the frothed milk separately. nice.

 cappuccino. my sis told me that the indication of a good cup of cappuccino is when u place the spoon onto the milk froth n the spoon will actually float on the drink. as u can c, this cup of cappuccino passed the test.
 baby: cheers!
me: wah lau eh, dats for ur drink la, not for YOU TO DRINK
baby: sound same.
me: where got same????
baby: same ma, still drink.
 my awesome bfast. silky scrambled eggs w spicy chirozo on brioche bread with salad, crispy hot potato wedges and roasted tomato jam. yummy till max. give me this anytime n i am happy.
 look at the chirozo.....yumz.
 baby's crepes with fruits n ice cream. wah seh. the crepe is super nice!!!! nt ur typical crepe. crispy outside, chewy n buttery inside. works so well w the sweet mango n the berries (rem, i hate berries). yummy!
 halfway thru hair transformation.

 ta dah.....i think the color is great. look good yo. n i waited 5 hours for her.
 yes, this is the lunch. high tea set from TCC. nt bad nt bad. i like TCC.
 we still have the last pc of coupon so we went to katong again for the sichuan food. this is the pig's ear w spicy bean sauce. very spicy yo.
 celery w lily bud. nice wok hei. the oni non spicy dish we've ordered.
 水煮牛肉.super duper spicy. somehow i preferred their 水煮魚. the fish is sweeter n in terms of taste, more balanced n fragrant. i wun say the beef is nt good, but really, i like the fish more.
 番茄蛋花湯. ohhh.....very nice wor.....reminds me of the soup we had in kiki taipei. nt bad nt bad. no msg after-effect. so, well done.
 went for dessert after the hot hot meal. overall, i like katong. alot of food w lesser crowd.
 aiyo, y u so happy?

 we went to our fav cake shop after our gym session on sunday. yes, loading calories after unloading. best. this is my fav LRRH. dark choc mousse w rasberry gel. hehe. 
 baby's choco banana cake. this cake is AWESOME!!!! limited edition yo. seem like they made this after stopping for many yrs. n they made this last week bcos they hav left over ingredients. heng ah!!!!
 cappuccino passed the test.

look at the interior, smooth choc mousse w banana puree, a layer of peanut biscult n a layer of soft moist cake. DROOL!!!!!

The Beginning or The End?

the end of an era marks the beginning of another?
seem to b that way....
it happens everywhere, in many many forms.

baby n i went for 《寶島一村》last weekend. best 舞台劇 i've watched. ever.
屈中恆was great. total epic performance. the other performers were great too. they've made us part of their village, infusing the 眷村spirit into our hearts. 賴聲川(director/producer) is great! i mean, hw can u make audiences stay put for a 3 hr show wout feeling bored n tired?
witty lines, great acting. nt too weepy, yet it touches your heart fully.
awesome show. *standing ovation*

村子拆了,人,離開了。
帶不走的,卻是那眷村的精神,對家的情感。
這裡,就是我們的家。



 they even gave out buns after the show!!!! 3 hrs show, all of us were hungry after that. buns were gone within seconds.


buns nt enuff for me n baby. went to max brenner for waffles. yummy.

 went to check out the new store at orchard central.




 wanted to hav dinner at the store but the food there looks mediocre, so we went to our all time fav ootoya.







 dessert! new cafe at wisma.


ok. i am nt a fan of bread, but the bread here taste great! do give it a try!

duno whether its my mind power or wat.
my jap VP was recalled bk to japan.
for good.
we were quite happy abt it though.
end of an era. but will there b a new beginning? i doubt. but well, we c hw it goes ba......


 this plc was a church previuosly. deco v nice.








 appetiser. crab w apple and tarragon, balsamic reduction and yuzu sauce. too big portion. we were half full after this.

this quail is awesome. tender n flavorful. yum yum. the char had no taste though. maybe shd pair w diff veg.
 tsk. this is aquired taste. monkfish w bourride sauce. u ask me what?
the sauce is made from fish stock, add garlic, onion, blah blah blah. think lobster bisque + butter. v weird taste w the monkfish. fish taste bland, suce too rich. dun match well at all. its like tasting two separate dishes. i noe it is classic to prepare la bourride like this....but.....hmmm.....
 on the other hand, the wagyu beef tasted awesome. tender, juicy, w the mushroom sauce. v nice.
 summer berries w sherbert. i hate berries.
 cappuccino. ok lor.



 kaypo-ing during dinner.
i wun spend my $$$ on this. heng its company dinner.
service is good though. but i think nt worth my 98 ++ bucks for this 4 course dinner.
i rather go for my yakitori. cheap n nice.
