Nothing last forever - Are you SERIOUS?

baby went BKK for a week for biz trip.
ya, nt for the demonstration/riot.
1 week.
after 1 week of freedom, she've decided to rip me off by suggesting "nicely" that we shd go for a good meal.
:p



 sangria. good.
 2 ultra big pcs of foie gras.
 anchovies. nice n juicy.
 warm leek salad. v rich n buttery. not bad.
 our fav jalapenos!
 my fav squid ink paella. yummiest ever.
 “好啦,好啦。喝咖啡啦。”
 a v cosy cafe that serves good coffee n awesome waffles

 one of the nicest waffles i've tasted! the smell itself is fantastic. the texture is like cake inside, crispy outside. v nice!
 rip off part 2, halfday off = good lunch at ember / start of weekend staycation






 as usual, food was FANTASTIC!!!! we were lucky to have made reservations n pre-order our food 1 week in advance....if not, we will have to eat grass! still our fav restaurant for a good lunch!

 i am complaining abt the design of the socks. who on earth will put the design at the ONLY the FEET????? boliao lor.
 
 with a heavy heart, we had our dinner the last time at guy savoy. they r closing down on 3 feb. juz when we tot we've found our fav french restaurant. sad max. bye bye GS. we shall meet in paris nxt yr.

 our usual seat. dress for the occasion.
 champagne to start the meal.
 baby's fav bread. the bread selection here was awesome.

 amuse bouche. veg delight.

 told u we love the bread here. fantastic.
 seemed like my appetizer always came w a theatre effect. glee of oysters 3 ways
 raw oyster w lemon gelee on top
 baby's crab salad w beetroot. v refreshing n fresh.
 onion tart
 this is the summer salad w oyster vinegratte, wout the smoke. hahahaha.
 poached oyster w dashi. my appetizer is interesting n fun. oyster is fresh, sweet n juicy. v nice.
 red wine w my main course

 my lamb in 3 ways. loin grilled, chop/cutlet on hot stones, minced lamb w potato. i love the 1st 2 prep. v sweet juicy, smoky flavor. the last one.....tasted like masala. so so lor.
 baby's lobster. soft, melt in your mouth goodness. we've nv tasted lobster so tender n soft b4. super nice.
 dessert amuse bouche. lime granite w lime puree, milk skin n lime floating island. refreshing.
 my dessert. coconut. fresh coconut w coconut granita, coconut chip n coconut paper. v nice n fresh!
 baby's grapefruit dessert. she cant even finish this. super sour! the server wanted to chg the dessert for her. but baby declined.
 bcos she wans to start w her petite 4 trolley!


 puddings, ice creams, macaroons, cookies, chocolate truffles...... u name it, they will serve it to u.



 final palate cleanser. sorbet w earl grey emulsion

 ordered nasi goreng for supper!!!!! this is the spirit of staycation wat......



 the cheapskate in us made us gave up the room svs in the hotel for bfast. went for pho instead. good!

 finally made our way to the cafe for brunch.


 turkish/middle eastern/morrocan food. baby nearly died of bloated-ness after the meal. dun think we will b back anytime soon.
 i felt that the food is good. its juz us who didnt really like it. sorry.




 this is more suited for us i guess. the wanton mee we had near our lab. too bad the coffee shop will b pulled down nxt mth. another sadness building up.
cooking is a piece of heart n soul of the chef, regardless of what is cooked. this, to me, is a piece of art.
