wanted to try their food long time ago. this will b a good excuse.

coffee is too sour for me.
churros is great though. dense in the middle, crispy outside.
choco tart.....here comes the chocolate nitemare.

great frens make good dinner! food wise, i suggest going for their small tapas dishes. mains not up to std.
nxt day, restaurant week lunch. baby n i decide to try out oni one place this time.

focus is the prosseco, not the woman behind
we ordered this extra prosciutto w burrata cheese. nice n refreshing.
squid appetizer. not much memory on the taste.
my order of pasta w green peas. surprisingly light n flavorful.

baby's salmon. moist n tender inside.
 dessert. ok la.
complimentary from the chef. verdict? hmmmmm.....quality not justified by price. service is good though.
camwhoring at our new fav huntout.
mega feast started the next day at the cove. brunch by the yatch dock.

a very relaxing brunch. good environment. my oni complain is the service. sux max. i hav to go to the drinks area 3 times before i get milk for my coffee. perhaps its is due to the fact that we were seated at the end of the restaurant, behind a group of enthusiatic adults, celebrating birthday for a 5 yr old kid. rich ppl.......i've oni celebrated my bday in kfc when i was 16.......有钱真好.
i may be going back for the food though. not bad.

like i've said, the view is awesome.
 our room at the hotel.
my dream dinner. what a perfect reason (excuse) to have an indulgent meal at this michelin star restaurant.i've finally dined in joel robuchon!!!! and its DINNER!!!

nope, we didnt op for the degustation dinner. i've regretted my decision after this awesome meal.

amuse bouche. foie gras mousse w balsamic reduction n parmasean foam. the best tasting quirky little thing i've had as amuse bouche. no words can describe. pls go n have this urself.
 baby: 拍什么拍?老娘要吃东西啦。
salad w butter grean beans. v light, refreshing n tasty!
sweet prawns w seafood stock foam. my god. this is super delicious. the sweet crispy prawns nearly threw me off my seat. baby was surrounded by food orgasm symphony. ppl around us was "hmmm"-ing and "awww"-ing (i was making that noise too) as we ate. the food was this good.

cod w eggplant. smooth n silky cod w melt in ur mouth eggplant. lovely n elegant.
smoked duck breast w foie gras pate n lentils. surprisingly light! v flavorful duck breast, sweet pate, taste lifted by the slightly tangy lentils.......my my my.......
roasted pork rib. now, u tot oni the chinese serve pork ribs. the meat fell off the bones, soft n flavorful v well marinated. however, the highlight for me is.....the SHITAKE MUSHROOMS!!!! never ever ever in my life (till now la) i've tasted so good mushrooms!!!! full of robust flavors from the meat jus, yeasty taste of the mushrooms, yet light n fragrant mushroon aroma lingered in ur mouth after u've savoured n swallowed it. i am drooling as i am writing this.
pan-fried foie gras w grapes. wat do u expect from a french restaurant? this is damn good!!!! crispy outside, melt-in-ur-mouth inside. u noe wat i mean.
swordfish w potatoes. super juicy swordfish!!!! i've actually preferred this dish to my pork ribs. this is so good. the flavors r perfectly balanced. the fish is sweet n full of meaty flavors.
another pix of the foie gras.
side dish of whipped potato. best whipped potato i've ever eaten. creamy, smooth, silky, buttery goodness. lovely.

this is not an ufo. this is the dessert. chocolate mousse (ya, chocolate, again!!!!) w chocolate truffle n chocolate disc (CHOCOLATE nitemare part 2)
 baby's coconut mousse w mango n lime.

 meal must end w coffee.

 v v v good meal. i will b back. money well spent.

went back to the hotel for a bath-tub party.....(dun think too kinky ah.....)
the wonderful day ended w chianti wine we got from a wine fair.
baby n i decided to order room service for bfast the nxt day instead of going out n b a scavanger at the buffet line.
so much food. to think that this is oni 1 portion. ya, ONE.

went to this place for brunch after we checked out from the hotel.

 free flow of prosseco.
 awesome bread n olive oil.
who can resist the good old white truffles! its here! super tasty white truffles shavings on thin pasta w butter n sage. i nearly fainted when the dish came.
did i mention that all the dishes (except the white truffles la) were free flow too? for this i've swallowed 17 oysters. yes, 17 (7 bucks a pcs, go figure). super fresh n briny oysters. yumz.

the load of starters r fresh n tasty.  w soft mozzarella cheese, duck breast, salmon n corn soup, we r already full after all these.

the pasta course. pasta w mushroom, beef ragu n tomato basil. full of robust flavors of their own.

meat course. red snapper n beef. the snapper is meaty n juicy, whereas the beef is tender in juicy. the beef is awesome! i wanted to have more, but my stomach is really v full by then.

the dessert platter. i muz say, this is the best italian dessert i've had in spore. everything was well balanced, n really, full of strong flavors.
baby made a request when she made reservations for this brunch. the servers were really attentive. they've waited for us to finish EVERYTHING b4 serving this bday cake (CHOCOLATE AGAIN). needless to say, we were filled to the brim after this.
v happy bday indeed! thank u baby.
to "repay", i've made reservations at this top french restaurant for our anniversary celebration.

look at the price of the champagne. did u c what i c?
i can oni afford ONE glass.

baby was complaining abt the difference between her glass n my glass. well, i appear to ppl that i need more alcohol, so, face it pal.
as for the menu, i've told the chef to "surprise me". dats rite, i duno wat they will serve me for this dinner. so exciting, rite?
amuse bouche. tempura prawn. sweet n crispy. yum.
this is their signature dish. cold angel's hair pasta w oscietra caviar scented w truffle. nt called their signature for nothing lor. this is so so so so delicious!!!! to think that it is a cold dish, the scent of truffle can knock me into coma. n the caviar is the BEST i've ever tasted. the dish is so full of flavors yet v delicate. v v tasty!
wagyu beef capparccio w white truffles shavings, crispy potato n veal jus. this is so good! the wagyu melted in my mouth once it touches my tongue. the white truffles r simply out of the world, n the veal jus w the potato is awesome. i hate to say this, but this is one of the best thing i've ever tasted. so so good.
baby gobbled down the food in 2 seconds. ok, not 2 seconds. 10 seconds.
fried poached egg w artichoke. another awesome dish. the egg is so runny (like soft boiled egg), yet it had a crispy skin. the contrast in texture is awesome.
tomato rice w alaska crab. i will nv noe that it is crab meat if the server did not tell me abt it. it was so sweet n soft!!!!! i was so overwhelmed by the flavor symphony by then.
baby lamb chops. aiyo. the meat is tender n juicy, super crispy outside. there was a "milky" flavor in the meat, which makes it so tasty. nice nice nice!
the v handsome server came w this frozen fruity dessert for our anniversary. nice touch!
apple tart w rum ice cream. i muz say the french r really good w their pastries n desserts! thin crispy pastry w cinnamon-y stewed apples. v v v good.

as if nt enuff, petite fours. needless to say, this is really good. :)

ate this b4 we meet our zai zai. nt sour enuff.

their noodles were bland. sigh. wasted.
i have to hold the piece of paper to attract his attention. my zai zai is so kaypo. but still my love. :)

conclusion:

 - Spain jamon is the best ham in the world.
 - Italian food is full of bold flavors. n full of love.
 - French food is full of details, delicate, balanced flavors. Best desserts too.

to me, all the food we've had for the past week is GOOD.
but my take?
out of all these "food tasting", the best food is from gunther's (my anniversary) dinner.
every course is superb. but service gotta b improved. not dat bad, but can b more engaging.
best service is from galibaldi. the prosseco brunch. impeccable, friendly n engaging.
ah well, dats all folks.
time to hit the gym!
