our fav cake shop had ceased operation.
u cant imagine hw upset i am rite now.
i will wait for del n kenneth to open their new shop (asap please.......)
meanwhile, i will juz b emo for a short while........

Our Rendevous

baby n i've decided to unwind abit from our ever stressful job n hav a staycation! (since when this word became official?)

went to this plc to satisfy my ramen crave. however, the stds dipped quite abit. i will not go bk again.

 

 we asked for super hard noodles, but it turned out to b sticky n slimy. not nice leh......

 our staycation started w lunch the nxt day at this new chinese cafe(?) at MW.

 this四川酸辣鱼is awesome!!!!! v well balanced, not too spicy, abit sour, with the fragrance fr the garlic n sichuan peppercorns.....v v v nice! i can even drink the soup! not oily at all. v nice.

 鱼香茄子.abit too sweet for me though.

 口水鸡捞面. not spicy enuff for me.

 dumpling soup. super big dumplings. juicy n filling. nice! we will b back for the fish n other dishes.

 our room at pan pac is really big.

 can shower n watch tv at the same time.

 baby acc me to the show presented by FM. it was a showcase for the songs we've written together w the melody class ppl. my singer went blank when she sang my song, end up half of the lyrics was gone (upset!). special appearance by Ming.

 sort of missed the class by her. her emo and cynical style is always my inspiration.

 she is the one who blacked out on stage la. i tried to SQUEEZE out a smile. 'nuff say.

 dinner b4 we went bk to the hotel. db is one of our fav restaurant now. awesome svs. n the server actually rem us, welcoming us back to the restuarant.sweet! :)

 the oysters (fine de claire, malpeque)r awesome. fresh n sweet. yumz. we preferred the malpeque (of cos, so ex). tasted so sweet.....

 their special appetizer for the day, scallops wrapped in puff pastry w spinach and black truffle shavings. juicy, tender, sweet w the crispy pastry skin......n the chix jus, tasted like beef jus......super duper delicious!

 the winter salad w promegranate, granny smith n cheese. too sour for me.

" BOUILLABAISSE ROYALE". super flavorful, like a seafood punch to ur face. scallops, mussels, prawns, lobster, snapper.....the seafood r so so fresh, the fish juz melted in ur mouth.....wah lau eh.....so so delicious.

 n the aioli mayo that went w the dish is so so awesome that i can eat it on its own. garlicky w tang fr the lemon, bacon bits on top......n u put this w the seafood, it suddenly lifts up the flesh n makes it even sweeter!

 look at the glorious dish.

 vanila souffle w rasberry sorbet. best souffle i've ever eaten in singapore. tasted exactly like the one i made in osaka's french cooking school.

 profiteroles. best in singapore. the flavors r unbelievable.

 macchiato is good too! verdict? one of our top our fav to date. 

 this is our room svs bfast after our morning swim in the hotel. alot of food yo.

baby super happy after the stay. pan pac's room is big n comfortable, location accessible, n the service rocks. i heard dat the food there in the hotel is v good too. we r thinking of forgoing our usual staycation hotel n vote for this one nxt time. i suggest to C (who wanted to stay is RWS for her bday nxt yr) to seriously consider pan pac. v good.

D&D 2013 + Endless Eating

baby n i started to source for xmas presents 2 weeks ago.

i can oni say, singaporeans really like to do last min shopping.

v crowded but nt to the brim yet. wait till u c the number of ppl this week.

wanted a dinner at an italian place in mohammad sultan, but it was pouring that day.

we ended up having early dinner at this french plc in far east.

 the legendary v cheap but tasty appetizer. ok la. nt bad.

 the v recommended mushroom cappuccino. ok la.

 duck confit. my verdict? bad. skin not crispy, fat nt rendered enuff, leaving a THICK layer of fats under the skin. i ask u. wat is the best part of a duck confit? the skin, isnt it? i've left out the skin for this. disgusted.

 fish was nt bad. but nt memorable.

creme brulee was burnt. sigh. i noe, this plc sells cheap food. but it doesnt mean that i hav to compromise. i wun come bk again.

after a bizzare case of getting lost in jurong point (5 of us took more than 30 mins to find each other there. so stupidly funny), we managed to get to starfruit's house in one big piece. strawberry mama is so proud of her son. the most handsome baby on planet earth.

lunch at our fav hotpot. i muz say the std came back! we will b back for more. :)

it was raining cats n dogs in orchard, so we went to hav a drink after dinner while waiting for the rain to stop (wassup w the weather man???)

 finally got to meet up w my zai zai. he is so bloody lost, while the siblings r enjoying themselves to the max.

i took him upstairs n placed him beside the giant cat. obviously, he doesnt like cats. he was scrambling for me to carry him out of the car. hahaha. my son is straight for sure.

 went to hav a bite at DB b4 our D&D. ya, i noe, but D&D is like wedidng banquet. start late + bad food+ last until v late. it is really wise of us to eat smth b4 the event. n we glad we did. i think i look like a taxi uncle beside baby.

 the food here is good, n svs is good too! we will b back next week for dinner (our little rendevous).

 food sux as usual. n the mc sux to core. i miss justin. n like i've said previously, i am glad we ate smth b4 the event.

food is good. server is blur but cute. :)

 met C&M for pre-xmas gathering at JI.

 my fav lamb chop is abit dry that day. QC really is a big issue here.

 love the pork chop though. flavorful. baby said its too dry. but i'm ok w it though. juicy enuff for me when pork chop is so bloody big.

 ravioli had good flavors. reminded me of rome. but the skin is abit too thick. nt smooth enuff.

 jool's fav is always my fav.

 suppli is good.

 polenta chips! moist n crispy! good.

 bruschetta w crabmeat n avocado. canned crabmeat is too fishy. no good.

desserts were good. they hav to really work on the QC of the food ya. we cannot depend on our luck everytime.

C: too spicy for me....dun wan....ah chooo!!!!!
